SCRAM

The SCRAM (Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitoring) system allows courts to constantly and accurately track a participant's blood alcohol level.  The system consists of an ankle bracelet and modem working in sync.  The bracelet detects the presence of alcohol transdermally:  as alcohol is consumed, it begins to evaporate through the skin.  The bracelet records the amount detected, calculates blood alcohol levels, and relays this information to the modem.  The modem then relays logs of all events (test results, tamper reports, diagnostic data, etc.) to the monitoring center.
